On the 3rd September 2019 we welcomed 87 Carnegie Undergraduate Vacation Scholars to our event held at the Technology & Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde, along with 30 of their Supervisors.

The event featured poster presentations from Undergraduate students from the Scottish universities who have just completed their Carnegie Vacation Scholarships this summer. We also heard speeches from our Chair, Prof Dame Anne Glover and Dr Ruaraidh McIntosh, Assistant Professor at Heriot-Watt University (former Carnegie Vacation Scholarship recipient).

A judging panel comprising of Trustees, current members of staff, former and current Carnegie Grant Holders reviewed the posters, listened to the Scholars’ presentations and quizzed them about their research.

Best Posters prizes were awarded to:

  • Toluwanimi Olatunji (University of the West of Scotland)
  • Boyko Nikolov (University of Strathclyde)
  • Robyn Gee (Abertay University)
  • Conor Nally (University of Edinburgh)

Runners up prizes were awarded to:

  • Alex Drysdale (University of Glasgow)
  • Ferenc Gutai (University of Dundee)
  • Rosa Crevecoeur (University of Edinburgh)
