Highlights from Carnegie PhD Scholars’ Gathering 2022

On 11th November 2022 we welcomed 29 new and continuing Carnegie PhD Scholars for our Scholars’ Gathering (the first one since February 2020). The event, held at the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh included poster sessions for the first and second year scholars and research presentations for 3rd year scholars.

We were pleased to welcome back former Carnegie Caledonian Scholars Dr Rita Kanevski, who talked about her own experiences during and since completing her PhD. Rita undertook her PhD at University of Edinburgh, graduating earlier this year.

Judging panels, comprising of staff and Carnegie PhD alumni reviewed the posters, listened to Scholars’ presentations and asked questions about their research.

People’s Choice Awards

The People’s Choice award for Best Poster went to Emma Reilly, Heriot-Watt University and the People’s Choice award for Best Research Presentation went to Benedictine Khor, Glasgow Caledonian University.
