Applications for such Scholarships, which are intended to be the premier award in Scotland, greatly outnumber the Scholarships available. Scholarships, which can be held at any University in the United Kingdom, but usually in Scotland, provide fees, maintenanceand a research and travel allowance. Scholars are also eligible to apply for Carnegie Research Grants and are sympathetically treated. Applications must be submitted electronically by 15th March, followed by a signed hard copy, for applicants to be considered for an award for the following session.
