The Carnegie Trust has awarded 79 grants to undergraduates in the Scottish universities under its highly sought after Undergraduate Vacation Scholarship scheme. Students at all of the fifteen Scottish universities will be conducting individual research projects during the summer months.

For the 2017 round of  Vacation scholarships the Trust received 147 applications from undergraduates in the Scottish universities. Following review of the proposals, 79 projects have been awarded funding.

The Vacation Scholarship Scheme enables students undertaking an undergraduate degree course at a Scottish university to devote some portion of the long summer vacation to undertake a programme of independent research of direct benefit to their academic work.

A full report the awardholders, together with the titles of the funded projects and statistics from the round, can be found here.
