Larger Grants

Submissions for Larger Grants, up to £40,000, may be made for projects which are of interest to the Scottish universities as a whole. These grants are not intended for individual research projects of a kind that would be submitted to a research council, and projects that have failed to secure funding from a council are not appropriate. The Trust does not expect to be the sole funder of a project and the other universities are expected to show their support in cash or in kind or in some other way. Prospective applicants are invited to discuss their proposals with the Trust's Secretary. Submissions (there is no application form) must reach the Trust by 1 October, or 1 March, for consideration at meetings at the end of February and June respectively. Applicants are likely to be invited to interview.
